Kingdom of Loathing Crafting

This is me.

Crafting is a large part of KoL (Kingdom of Loathing, a delightful browser-based, multiplayer role-playing game). As a disco bandit, i am skilled at the art of cocktailcrafting. There are many discoveries i've yet to make, so i need to keep track of what ingredients i need to acquire to make new drinks.

The left column denotes the type of item i hope to discover.

I've also got a Chef-in-the-Box which helps me cook fancy dishes.

Green cells denote items i already have.

Below is some of the equipment i possess, organized by type. The "Handed" column refers to the number of hands required to wield a weapon. Note that some weapons require three hands.

Meat is the currency of the Kingdom of Loathing.

If you combine some meat, you can make meat paste. With meat paste, you can glue other items together, creating familiars, gear, usables, etc.

The parenthetical statements following some of the items describe the quests, locations, or requirements necessary to obtain said item.

When Will Our Table Be Ready at Kura Revolving Sushi Bar!?

We celebrated my stepson's 15th birthday yesterday by me making him whoopie pies, his father taking him bouldering, and finally a birthday dinner at Kura Sushi. Virus Super-spreading, Automated Contrary to all pandemic logic, there was a FIVE HOUR WAIT at Kura yesterday. Via their sub-mediocre app, you can get on a waitlist. Your displayed wait time never decreases, but the number of people ahead of you waiting for a table does go down. We ain't even trying to hang out in a COVIDful waiting area for 5 hours, so i chucked together a handy graph to predict exactly when our table would be ready! So we jumped in the car at 6:10! Now i know what you're thinking: "Kristen, linear regression?! Really? This' clearly a job for logarithmic decay!" Well, calm down. The regressions were basically the same at predicting when our table would be ready, and i threw this together during boring scenes of Squid Game . Alright, see you in less than 2 years ho...

Do you need juice!?

Have you ever said to yourself, "i should eat more fruits and vegetables...but Whataburger sure is great"? Me too! Well, my mom bought my cat and i vitamins for Christmas, which i think is her way of saying i am unhealthy. My Polish co-worker advocates eating primarily uncooked meats, and admonishes, "legumes are pretty much the worst thing you can eat." Netflix keeps reminding me that everytime i eat a hamburger, i am LITERALLY RUINING THE WORLD. And sad people in podcasts keep telling my passive ears that "exercise and eating right" will miraculously cure even clinical depression. One thing i can say though is that plants look awfully healthy. So...i should eat more of them...or any of them! You already know what a passion i have for finding and purchasing the cheapest food . KITTENS! Inspired by...KITTENS!

Here's a fun sentence: since i got laid off, i've been able to fulfill one of my longtime dreams. Fostering kittens! I've always wanted to, but (depending on age) they need to be weighed and fed like 4 times a day. So it can be challenging to foster if you have to go into an office, even one day a week like at my previous job. But now, between filling out job applications and going on interviews, i'm raising America's next generation of purrfect little fur beasts! Say hello to the J28 litter! Meet (in alphabetical order) Jack, Jack O Lantern, Jackson, Jemima, Jerome, and Jezebel! This' only my second time fostering kittens, so the good people at Austin Pets Alive! only saddled me with two of these sweet baby angles--Jezebel (whom i'm calling Lil) and Jack O Lantern (whom i'm calling Loop).
